Maurice Eugene Longshore

Maurice Eugene "Corky" Longshore, 63, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at his residence.
Corky was a retired assembly line worker at General Motors. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club. He was a US Army veteran.
He was born November 2, 1938 at Du Quoin, IL the son of Howard Sherman and Blanche (Wheatley) Longshore.
He married Ina E. (Morrow) Heape on September 27, 1985 at Pinckneyville, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, mother- Blanche Breeding of Du Quoin, children- Scott and Evie Longshore of Paw Paw, MI, Kimberly and Fred Allen of Paw Paw, MI, Kelly and John Schincariol of Portage, MI, grandchildren- Brian, Jacob and Ashley Longshore, Ricky and Stacey Allen, Sophia and Isabella Schincariol, step children- Roger Heape, Dennis and Susan Heape, Yvonne and Brian Bronke, several step grandchildren, sisters- Shirley and Dale Emling of Bella Vista, AR, Helen and Ken Minnick of Du Quoin, Ann Longshore of Cunningham, TN, brother- Leslie and Helen Longshore of Spokane, WA.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 6, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Military graveside rites were conducted by Du Quoin VFW Post 513.
